Auburn Hills, Mich. , Dec 9, 2011 – Chrysler Group’s Pentastar 3.6-liter V-6 engine once again has been recognized by the editors of Ward’s Automotive as one of the “10 Best Engines”. “Every year, Ward’s Automotive recognizes the industry leaders in engine technology,” said Drew Winter, editor at Ward’s Automotive. “Chrysler has successfully demonstrated the breadth of this engine and how it delivers on all fronts including fuel economy, lower emissions and power.” Named to the exclusive group of engines last year after its introduction in the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Pentastar V-6 engine is now standard or available on Chrysler 200, 300 and Town & Country; Dodge Avenger, Challenger, Charger, Durango, Journey and Caravan. For 2012, the Pentastar 3.6-liter engine also is now standard on the new Jeep Wrangler. Editors tested the 2012 Jeep Wrangler and the Chrysler 300 is this year’s shootout. Designed to meet a variety of requirements across both front- and rear-drive models, the Pentastar V-6 also is the exclusive engine used with the new eight-speed automatic transmission on Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 models. The engine and transmission combination deliver 31 miles-per-gallon (mpg) on the highway. On Jeep Wrangler, the 3.6-liter engine improved fuel efficiency to 21 mph on the highway while delivering 285 horsepower and 260 lb. ft. of torque, improvement s of 40 and 10 percent, respectively. “Since the introduction of the Pentastar V-6 engine just 16 months ago, we have produced more than 900,000 engines for front- and rear- drive passenger cars, minivans and sport utility vehicles,” said Bob Lee, vice president and head of powertrain and electrified propulsion systems engineering, Chrysler group LLC. “We are continuing to look forward at adapting future technologies to the Pentastar V-6 as they become available for even more fuel efficiency and performance.”

151 participants earned a $10 contribution to the school from Chrysler by taking a brief test drive in a Town & Country, the company’s award winning minivan.  Naber Chrysler supplied the vehicles, and volunteers from the dealership were on hand to assist in the fundraising drives.

January 1987 Greensboro, NC. I’m standing in a darkened room with flags along the walls wondering what was about to happen. In walks a man in uniform and ask me if i’m ready to take my oath. I’m thinking “sure thing, no problem”, but when it got to the part about sacrificing my life for our country, I realized that this was very serious and very real. I had never made a commitment like this before. I had just promised to die for known and unknown people if I was called to do so. I had just become Government Issue (GI).

Sometimes we forget how lucky we are to have our freedom. I’ve heard stories from other friends in the service when they spoke about their experience in Basic Training. Most said it was a cake walk and they were just glad it was over. My experience wasn’t the same. Our unit had all of our privileges taken away and our lockers were sabotaged for inspections. I remember standing on a chair one night, after Taps, looking out the window. I could see the city skyline and wondered what all those “free” people were doing. I felt as if I had every Freedom I had ever known stripped from me. I felt then, that this feeling I was having, was part of the point of Basic Training. To know freedom and then have it taken away from you. Let me tell you, it’s is worth fighting and dying for.

So, on this special day, I would like to thank all my brother Veterans for taking that same oath with me. May God bless you all.

Auburn Hills, Mich. , Oct 26, 2011  -  Chrysler Group LLC confirmed today
that a new national labor agreement, covering 26,000 employees, has been
ratified by the UAW-represented workforce in the U.S.

Through the term of the new agreement, Chrysler Group confirms plans to
invest an additional $1.3 billion to retool and upgrade plants for the production of new products, bringing the Company’s total U.S. investment to $4.5 billion. Additionally, Chrysler Group may add up to 2,100 new jobs in addition to the more than 2,500 jobs previously added.

“No one involved in the bargaining process leading to this agreement could
forget about our near death experience slightly more than two years ago and
the second chance we were given by the American and Canadian taxpayers. The
faith that was placed in us then has been fully repaid,” said Sergio Marchionne, Chrysler Group Chairman and CEO. “This agreement is a credit to our workforce and the UAW leadership. It recognizes the significant contributions they have made toward our continuing recovery. It rewards them for the current and potential future success of the Company while ensuring Chrysler Group will be able to remain competitive.”

The agreement recognizes hourly employees with a simpler and more
transparent profit sharing plan that directly aligns with the Company’s
performance. In addition, a new quality performance-based bonus is being
implemented that will give employees an opportunity to benefit from
improvements in the initial quality of Chrysler Group vehicles.

Because World Class Manufacturing (WCM) is a cornerstone of the Company’s
transformation, the new agreement also rewards employees with an annual
upside bonus if WCM metrics are achieved.

Since June 2009, Chrysler Group has announced investments of over $3.4
billion in its U.S. facilities and has made significant progress toward
building a successful enterprise, including: confirming a $165 million investment in its Sterling Heights Assembly Plant (Mich.) for the construction of a new body shop as well as equipment and conveyors; investing $72 million in the Toledo Machining Plant (Ohio); confirming a $114 million investment to repurpose about one-fifth or nearly 400,000-square feet of the Trenton North Engine Plant (Mich.) for the production of core components for the Pentastar engine produced at Trenton South; investing nearly $1.3 billion into the Company’s existing transmission manufacturing facilities in Kokomo, Ind., to accommodate production of a new advanced front-wheel drive automatic transmission; increase capacity and support production of the World Engine and improve processes for the 62TE transmission program; and accommodate future production of a new highly fuel-efficient eight-speed automatic transmission; investing $600 million in its Belvidere Assembly Plant (Ill.); confirming a planned investment of $850 million in its Sterling Heights Assembly Plant and surrounding stamping facilities; planning an investment of $150 million in its GEMA (Dundee, Mich.) facility; announcing in December 2009 that it will invest $179 million to launch production of the 1.4-liter, 16-valve Fully Integrated Robotized Engine (FIRE) at the GEMA plant, creating more than 150 new Chrysler Group jobs; adding a second shift of production – or nearly 1,100 jobs – at its Jefferson North Assembly Plant (Mich.) in May 2010; adding nearly 900 jobs on a second shift at its Sterling Heights Assembly Plant in February 2011; launching the all-new 2011 Jeep® Grand Cherokee in May 2010; beginning production of the all-new Fiat 500, Dodge Durango, Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger in December 2010; starting production of the 2011 Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger in January 2011.

rated average or better in predicted reliability.

The CR survey results are in and the Patriot is Jeep’s most reliable
model.

Nearly 60 journalists belonging to the Texas Automotive Writers Association (TAWA) spent two days driving the industry’s newest sport-utility and crossover vehicles in San Antonio late last week, and when the dust settled, the new Dodge Durango stood proud as the winner of the prestigious “Full-Size SUV of Texas” honor.

The TAWA media take many customer demands into consideration when evaluating the vehicles, including everything from exterior styling and on and off-road capability, to the entrant’s overall utility, value and fuel efficiency.

Earlier this year, the Dodge Journey seven-seat crossover was recognized by TAWA, winning the coveted “Family Car of Texas” award.

Another surprise was the Journey’s vastly improved inte-rior quality, according to the Ledger. “The cabin is awash in soft touch materials and pad-ded surfaces,” the review said.
